I did Torrey Pines today. The first first time was on a Nishiki Sport ten speed in 1973. Rarely without one since though there were gaps. In 2000 got into it seriously. Somewhere between 2006 and 2015 I did a few of 10k years. Got passed by more than I used to going up the grade, but I'm still going up it.
ª my sexism discovered.. The title: "Queen..." made me read this because I knew I wanted to comment.. then... So I thought Queen was a gender, but then realized "King of sports" is just as sexist
ª what about emperor of sports?
ª I read a bit about Ned O in my day, it is why I am always looking for smaller frames when buying a new (to me mountain bike).. In an interview he talked about it being lighter...
But I discovered not only was it lighter, it was more nimble and have not gone back
Ha ha, I was going back and forth in my mind about whether it was the King or Queen of sports, so I decided on "Queen" because I'm a mountain bike queen myself. How long have you been mountain biking? And have you tried the E-pedal-assist bikes yet? It's been a total game changer for me as an older queen.... I can keep up with my buddies who also ride E-pedal-assist, and we have the greatest times out in the mountains.
I moved to the Adiorndacks in '92 and bought a bike then -- It was a return.. and a tad too big.. but it was okay.. a couple years later I bought a Schwinn Moab.. and smaller because of the Ned O interview. Also It felt right
I had seen Schwinns groiwng up, but that was too booshie for my working class family.. once I was into Mountain Biking.. I decided to splurge!
I don't complete with anyone but myself, so I am still doing all the pedaling myself

I wonder if you saw the Ned O interview in "The Great Mountain Biking Video" produced in 1987?
no
I was pretty clueless about Mt. Biking pre-1990..
O and I would volunteer in Mt. Snow for the races they had there.. and just spectated for the Nude Crit
